KY vs. CT

After three days in NYC we took the train to Connecticut to visit some friends li´ving in Cornwall (a.k.a in the middle of nowhere). But man it's beautiful up here. Here it's still pretty cold, but slowly getting warmer. Kentucky nature is gorgeous too, but this reminds me more of Europe, which is great to me now. In comparison I'd say it's more down to earth up here around Connecticut and Massachusetts, and doesn't have all the traffic, fast food places and more genuine culture. Although Kentucky has it's charm too, the southern charm. But as one that misses Europe a lot, it's been real good spending time here.

NYC

So I got a great start on our trip, lost my cell phone.. It's so me.. But since then we've had a great time. We've had great food, so far American and Korean. Already got a lot done: shopping, Central Park, the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center and just taking in the city. Love it. Also brother and dad got to see some hockey at the Garden for free. Just a tad jealous.

Found out our events today. I'll be doing mid-distances and long-jump. We have been divided in to work out groups, mid-distances being one group. Me being the captain of that group.. ? I'm excited about it though, I am. Now I just have to perform good too..

Lockdown

Friday was an interesting day at school, or exciting would be a better word to dexcribe it, maybe even frightening. Second period is choir for me, this day we happened to go to the library for some people who had to do some research. So we're just chillin' in there, sitting in the couches when the announcements comes on: "We are under a lockdown at this moment, so would you please listen to your teacher for further instructions". So with this our teachers tell us to get on the floor and sit next to a shelf, table or whatever you could find. They closed the blinds and turned the lights off.
I was kind off freaking out, as my mind goes to all the school massacres you hear about. I asked Paige what was going on, she said that it could be anything from an intruder at the school, someone has a gun, a very upset parent coming in or drugs. She also mentioned that the library was the worst possible place to be at under a lockdown, thanks buddy.

Luckily it turned out to be the last mentioned possibility, drugs. We saw the drug dogs come in and searched through the hallway and lockers. So what most likely happened was that they got a tip from somebody about a student having drugs. Nothing more than that for this time. Breath out.

Insanity

So our two weeks of track conditioning are almost over. We have been doing work-outs from a video called "insanity", you can imagine how hard it has been. We've been doing that along with running and weight-lifting. So I can with confidence say that I'm ready for track now, no doubt.
